Christmas Party 2002

Once again, CMAC hosted their annual Christmas party for our members and their families. It is a fun, relaxed day with plenty of food, novelties for the kids and a load of 'bench racing'. Check out Christmas '97, Christmas '98, Christmas '99 and Christmas '01

This year, the weather was less than kind, with a strong, gusty wind keeping most aircraft on the ground. One of our junior members, Mitchell Bannink, spent a lot of time making a bomb-bay on his Tiger 2000 and didn't want to disappoint the kids expecting the now traditional CMAC 'lolly-drop', so made a single heart-stopping flight with Dale Bentley at the controls. We have never seen an aircraft in so many different attitudes on a single pass of the strip. The payload of chocolates for the kids were unloaded at a fairly random location and Dale picked a 'hole in the wind' to safely land the model in what can only be described as a consummate display of a pilot's skill.

CMAC wish to thank Hans Bannink for donating a joyflight to be used as a raffle prize. A substantial amount of money was raised.
