ROBERT W. FARAM…..A FAVOURITE SON
It could be said that some amongst us might qualify for the description of SNAG (Sensitive New Age Guy) but you may be assured that Bob Faram does not qualify for that award. Bob bears the brunt of ongoing attacks which qualifies him for the Oscar in Insensitivity but I hasten to add that he is the architect of his own downfall! One scarcely has to ask him to be assured that he is the world’s greatest pilot and modeller extraordinary and the self-praise doesn’t end there, so it might truthfully be said that he falls on his own sword. Let’s be serious for a minute….Bob has been a member of CMAC for 17 years and has been a Vice President for a number of years. His particular brand of expertise flows back to his career as a schoolteacher specialising in industrial arts. Bob recently retired from a position of Principal of a local high school but even whilst holding down a difficult position he found the time to develop methods for the production of fibreglass fuselages the quality and detail of which are outstanding. Most members of this club have flown, are flying or are waiting in the queue for a "Faram" fuselage and many members of other clubs have chosen to build models around a masterpiece from the Faram workshop. Putting aside the self-adulation which emanates from Bob at any time, it is recognised that he is a very competent pilot which is reflected in the fact that he is a qualified instructor. Sure, he’s lost the odd aeroplane but never has a disaster been even vaguely attributed to pilot error! Bob Faram is a very valued member of the Cronulla Model Aero Club.
